Code Licensing

✅ Commercial Usage
✅ Personal Usage

Can I use the code generated by Pico for my business?

Absolutely. All code generated and edited with Pico can be used for any purpose, including commercial purposes. Regardless of which plan you are on.
Legally, the code is licensed under the MIT license. According to Wikipedia,
… As of 2020, the MIT License was the most popular software license found in one analysis.
MIT license means the code can be used for any purpose, personal or commercial, by you as well as by others.

How does Pico use the code?

  1. We plan to use the code for model training purposes in order to improve the code generation model.
  1. Pico might also generate template or example apps based off the code.

Exclusive Code Licensing

If you subscribe to a Business or Enterprise plan, the code you create with Pico is fully owned by you. The code is not MIT licensed. We will not use the code for training purposes. Parties other than yourself are not permitted to use the code for any purpose. We will store and run the code as directed by you to host your app. However, you can revoke that privilege at any time.

What happens if I cancel Business or Enterprise plan?

You continue to have full, exclusive ownership over the code. Code licensing is assigned when you first generate or edit the code. After that, regardless of any plan or account changes, the code licensing remains the same.
